Burst water main shuts Easingwold School

PUPILS have been sent home from a North Yorkshire secondary school due to a broken water main.

Hundreds of youngsters at Easingwold School have had to go home because there is currently no water on the site.

In a message sent to parents this morning the school said: "Unfortunately, due to a broken water main, the school currently has no water, cooking facilities or sanitation and is therefore having to close.

"Buses are currently being organised and students will be able to contact parents if required. We will be open as normal tomorrow, October 9."
