Regional producers prepare for foodie awards

NORTH Yorkshire is being recognised for its contribution to the region’s food and drink economy in the deliciouslyorkshire Awards 2012.
Eighteen companies in the county have made the shortlist, featuring in 11 of the awards’ 16 categories.
Cedarbarn Farmshop at Pickering is shortlisted in three categories: best fresh produce for its vegetable box, best ready to eat for its stew and dumplings and best use of local produce on a menu – B&B/café.
Ampleforth Abbey is shortlisted in the drinks category for its beer, while Fodder in Harrogate is a finalist in the category for best retailer of local products.
This year’s winners will be announced at a dinner on October 25 at the National Railway Museum, York.
