SIX firms in Ryedale out of 18 in North Yorkshire have been shortlisted in the Deliciouslyorkshire awards for 2012.
The Cedar Barn Farmshop near Pickering is shortlisted in three categories – best fresh produce for its vegetable box, best ready to eat for its stew and dumplings and best use of local produce on a menu for a B&B or café.
The latter category also features Carr House Farm bed and breakfast at Ampleforth and No 54 at Helmsley.
Ampleforth Abbey is shortlisted for its beer in the best drink category, while Hayloft Foods of Malton are in the best ready to eat category.
The best innovation category includes Chilli Jam Man at Thixendale.
Elaine Lemm, chairman of the judging panel, said: “Food producers and the retail and hospitality industry in Yorkshire are not immune to the downturn we are currently experiencing in the UK yet. Despite the tough conditions, innovation thrives and standards just keep getting higher.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the National Railway Museum in York on October 25.
