Marking births and marriages in Kirkbymoorside

A SPECIAL service is being organised at a Ryedale church for people who were married or baptised there.

And an appeal has been made for people to root out photographs and momentoes of their big day.

The service will be held on Sunday, October 7, at 10.30am at the Methodist Church, Kirkbymoorside .

The service is part of the bicentenary and will celebrate the many weddings and baptisms held there over the years.

The Rev Norma Davey said: “When I meet people, in the town and outside, we get talking and I tell them who I am, they say ‘Oh, I was married there’ or they were a bridesmaid.”

Any photos of the church before the 1980s refurbishment would be welcome, too.
