Stuart joins Lions’ cheap chips gang
12:00am Friday 28th September 2012 in News
STUART Barker, owner of Stuart’s of Driffield Chip Shops, has joined the local group of fish and chip shops which support Malton , Norton & District Lions Club in providing subsidised meals to the elderly during the winter months.
The weekly deliveries to homes in Malton and Norton will begin again in October and are supported by the shops in Peasey Hill, Hazel’s in Wood Street and One of Each in Mill Street.
Stuart’s new shop in Rillington will support the Benefice of Buckrose Carrs who will be serving the monthly community Lions fish and chip lunches in Rillington, West Heslerton and Sherburn during the winter.
Money raised by the Lions during their fundraising activities, including Santa’s Sleigh and the annual charity golf match, is used to subsidise the cost of these meals.
