Tory candidate Guy Coulson wins Scarborough by-election

CONSERVATIVE Party candidate, Guy Coulson, was elected to Scarborough Borough Council by voters in the Esk Valley ward in a by-election.

Mr Coulson polled 606 votes, ahead of Independent Michael Henry Ward with 151 votes, the Labour Party’s Simon Bard Parkes with 87 votes, UK Independence Party candidate Michael John James with 35 votes and the English Democrats’ Edward Scott who gained 18 votes.

Turnout in the Esk Valley ward was 25.34 per cent.
