Van driver seriously injured after vehicle hits bollards

A VAN driver was seriously injured when his vehicle collided with two bollards in a North Yorkshire town early today.

The 36-year-old man was taken to York Hospital with neck and leg injuries after the accident, which happened at about 2.30am in Long Street, Easingwold.

North Yorkshire Police said officers were currently trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and appealed for witnesses to call them on 101.

A spokesman said the injured man was believed to be from the Luton area.
