Rural Housing Week celebrates affordable homes

A SCHEME which has seen more than 120 affordable homes built in rural parts of North Yorkshire over the last year will be celebrated across the region next month.

Rural Housing Week will bring together councils, community groups, housing providers and parish councils for five days of events, hosted by the North Yorkshire Strategic Housing Partnership, from October 1.

Planners and experts in the field, including the Chartered Institute of Housing, the National Housing Federation, the Department for Communities and Local Government and the University of York , will speak at the events, with workshops, visits to completed schemes and official openings also taking place. A further 100 affordable homes are scheduled for completion this year.
