Unemployment rise in Ryedale

UNEMPLOYMENT in Ryedale rose by 56 to 666, or two per cent of those eligible to claim Jobseekers Allowance, according to latest Government statistics.
The figures also show that the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance across North Yorkshire fell by 73 between July and August to 8,912, or 2.4 per cent of those eligible. In York, it rose by five to 3,253, or 2.4 per cent.
In East Yorkshire, the number of claimants fell by 86 to 6,691, or 3.2 per cent of those eligible.
