A WEBSITE created to improve tourism in North Yorkshire has been nominated for an award for the second year running.
Scarborough Borough Council’s discoveryorkshirecoast.com is one of the finalists in the best tourist board website category in the TravelMole awards.
The site attracts about a million users each year, and encourages visitors by promoting the coast and countryside close to Scarborough.
Councillor David Chance, portfolio holder for tourism and leisure, said: “For discoveryorkshirecoast.com to be shortlisted once again is a tremendous accolade for all the staff involved in managing this fantastic website and is testament to their ongoing hard work and dedication.”
The winners of the 2012 TravelMole Web Awards will be announced on September 26 at an awards ceremony in London.
