Join stonemason Steve for wall talk

LOCAL people are being offered the chance to meet skilled stonemason Steve Pickering who has been rebuilding the long-neglected walls at Castle Gardens in Malton .
Steve is giving a talk about his work on the walls over the past months and the challenges that he has faced in tackling the repairs to the historic walls that contain stone from the medieval castle that once stood on the site.
There will also be an optional tour of the wall repairs at 6pm, which will be followed by an illustrated talk at Hope Central, Castlegate, Malton, on Thursday, September 20, at 6.30pm.
Visitors will be able to access the Castle Garden via the Castlegate gate which has been locked for a few weeks due to vandalism, but will be open for this event.
