Views sought on Ryedale budget proposals

COUNCIL tax payers in Ryedale are to be asked for their views on the district council’s budget proposals for next year.

Corporate director Paul Cresswell told the council that as a result of council tax benefit being abolished, the district council, like other local authorities, was having to establish its own scheme for local council tax support.

In Ryedale, he said, there were a total of 3,620 claimants, costing £3,508,000.
