7:00am Wednesday 12th September 2012 in News
A RYEDALE acapella choir is holding an open evening this week to attract new members.
Moorvoices started in 2010, led by Rebecca Gross, and was originally based in Kirkbymoorside .
However, due to the membership growing the group needed a bigger space for its weekly practices and moved to St Joseph’s Church Hall in Pickering . Meetings are now held every Thursday, 7.15pm-9.15pm.
Member Serena Williams said: “We are a relaxed friendly group who enjoy the fun of singing together whether at a small local church event or a large national choir festival “We sing a wide range of songs from protest songs, through to gospel, songs in different languages, pop songs, choral compositions and musicals.
“All are welcome from beginners to experienced singers and there are no audition it is just a relaxed, fun evening.”
The open evening will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
