Get crafty at Fairtrade fair

LOCAL crafts will be on display alongside items from across the world at a Fairtrade fair next week.
Organised by the Malton and Norton Fairtrade Group, the event will include a number of stalls selling items from jewellery to ceramics and children’s toys to American folk art.
Janice Gwilliam, from the group, said they had wanted to do something different to help promote Fairtrade and local crafts.
She said: “We last held a clothes show and from talking to people there thought it would be a good idea to organise a craft fair.
“It was also felt that we should include local crafts with compliment Fairtrade goods.”
The Fairtrade craft fair will be held at the Memorial Hall in Old Malton on Saturday, September 22,10am-4pm.
Entry is free.
