Silver band in plea for new players

STAPE Silver Band is looking for new players.

The band’s learners’ section is changing its training night to Tuesdays between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, said spokeswoman, Tanya rex.

“Anyone wanting to learn to play a brass instrument can do so with our band for as little as £25 a year, which includes tuition and loan of an instrument,” she said.

The band takes learners from the age of seven.

“We would like to hear from anyone who wants to learn to play or players who have played in the past and fancy re-kindling the hobby,” she said.
