Charity auction at Thornton-le-Clay

Luxury breaks in Dalby Forest, singing lessons and a round of golf are just some of the promises on offer at a special charity auction to raise funds for local charities.

Coun Eric Hope, chairman of Ryedale District Council, is organising an auction of promises and a hog roast to raise funds for his charities MacMillan Cancer Support and the Ryedale Stroke Group.

The event which will be tomorrow from 1pm to 5pm at Torwood Bungalow, Low Street, Thornton-le-Clay It looks set to attract support from all over Ryedale with offers of promises already coming from local businesses.

“It should be a wonderful event,” said Coun Hope.

Admission is £10 which includes food from the hog roast.
