Malton and Norton Musical Theatre puts together its new team

MALTON and Norton Musical Theatre has appointed a new team to help steer the society forward into a new era.

Long standing member and performer Ian Goring has been elected chairman, with Paula Cook becoming secretary and Mark Boler continuing in his role as treasurer.

The full committee also includes Martin Parrott, Diana Morgan, Gill Boler, Jane Rimmer-Boyes, Rob Davies, Anne Pegg, Rory Queen and Neil Paylor. The company is also delighted to announce that Rebecca Howard has agreed to continue in her role as president.

Cinderella has been confirmed as the society’s next pantomime production and will run for 10 performances in the Milton Rooms from Friday, January 18 to Saturday, January 26 – one week later than recent years.

The show will once again be directed by John Hall, whose contribution helped make this January’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” such a great success. Tickets will go on sale in the first week of December.

Rehearsals have only just started and new members are welcome. Auditions will be held next Monday and Friday, September 14.

Other plans include the refurbishment of the Parish Rooms which are used for rehearsals as well as costume and props storage. It will see a new heating system installed the internal rooms revamped.
