Support your healthcare hero

RYEDALE residents are being urged to nominate their healthcare heroes as an NHS Trust, which runs two units in Malton , launches its annual staff awards.

The Making a Difference Awards are held each year to recognise the dedication and achievements of the staff working for the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust which provides mental health, learning disability, eating disorders and substance misue services across Ryedale.

The trust runs the Princess Road clinic in Malton and the Springwood Unit at Malton Hospital . Now it wants service users, their families and carers to nominate those they believe deserve recognition.

There are 10 award categories including tackling stigma, promoting social inclusion, working behind the scenes and developing excellent services.

Jo Turnbull, chairman of the trust, will also present a special unsung hero award to a person who has shown outstanding dedication and commitment.

The closing date for nominations is September 17 and more details can be found on www.tewv.nhs.uk/staffawards
