YOUNG artists demonstrated their talents at an exhibition in Pickering at the weekend.

Organised by the town’s youth council, 10 youngsters exhibited their work at the Memorial Hall.

Town councillor Joy Andrews said it was one of a series of events the youth council had organised to help promote a more positive image of young people in the area.

“They are a fantastic group and despite having a really busy summer with their exams they managed to organise this event – it is a real credit to them,” she said.

“Quite a number of pieces were sold which will help pay for the venue and go towards the council’s next project.”

Pickering Youth Council’s AGM will be held today (Wednesday) in the Memorial Hall at 4.15pm. The youth council is looking for new members.
