Cash machine scam device discovered

RESIDENTS and visitors to Scarborough have been urged to remain vigilant when using cash machines after a camera and card skimming device were found on an ATM in the town.

Police removed the device from a cash machine at the Post Office in Aberdeen Walk after it was reported by a member of the public.

However, officers said they did not know how long it had been there.

A police spokesman said anyone who believed they may be a victim of the skimming scam should contact their bank, and customers have been urged to shield their pin when using cash machines.
