YOUNG artistic talent will be on display this weekend as members of Pickering Youth Council host their second annual art exhibition.

The event is the brainchild of the council’s 16-year-old secretary Ruby d’Alquen, who is herself a talented artist.

A spokesperson for the youth council said that building on the success of last year’s event, the exhibition will feature a comprehensive representation of what young artists could achieve.

“Much of the work will be on sale at very reasonable prices and, who knows, it may be a chance for someone to snap up a very early work by the next David Hockney,” he added.

The exhibition will be held in Pickering Memorial Hall, from Friday to Sunday, 10am-5pm.

Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
