AN INDEPENDENT ambulance and paramedical business based in Malton is looking to recruit about 100 local people following an expansion of its services.
The North of England Ambulance Service, based at Showfield Lane, provides services throughout the country to private sector healthcare providers and a number of NHS Trusts, as well as assisting event organisers to meet their first aid and medical cover.
It has recently added the North of England Fire and Rescue Service to its portfolio to provide a “one stop shop” service at many events.
Chief executive officer Robert Arrand said the North of England Ambulance Service was also a training organisation being an Accredited Edexcel BTec Centre delivering awards covering first person on scene and ambulance driving qualifications.
He said: “This allows the company to train its own staff to high standards, while offering the same services to other businesses and the public.
“The business has expanded steadily over the last year increasing its workforce and fleet of vehicles. That expansion is continuing and in order to meet its potential over the short to medium term, the business needs to recruit many more people.”
Mr Arrand said that as a local employer, the business wants to offer job opportunities to residents of Malton and the surrounding areas.
“This would be a real benefit to the local economy,” he added.
