Cinema celebrates centenary

CENTENARY celebrations at a North Yorkshire cinema are to be marked with a visit from a North Yorkshire MP.
Anne McIntosh , who represents Thirsk and Malton , will visit the Ritz cinema in Thirsk, which opened in 1912, next Friday. The cinema was founded by Walter Power and has been run by volunteers since 1996. To mark the centenary, a special edition DVD has been produced detailing its history.
