A COUPLE from an award-winning pub near York have battled through to the regional heats of a new TV cookery show starring Marco Pierre White, which starts on Channel 5 tonight.
The programme features Marco hitting the road in his Battle Truck – a specially designed mobile kitchen in which chefs have to cook and serve their tastiest dish – which starts its journey in Yorkshire before heading to Covent Garden in London.
Ashley McCarthy, chef and owner of Ye Old Sun Inn at Colton, is given only 30 minutes to create his very best meal.
His wife Kelly, who is the front of house manager, wil then present it in style to try to win a place in the next round. The couple expect to feature in the second episode next week.
