Pickering community park ‘to open in 2014’

THE plan to create a community park in Pickering could become a reality earlier than thought.
Town clerk Andrew Husband said a working party of the authority had met bosses of David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes to discuss the proposal. Mr Husband said the park could be opened in 2014.
Councillors said a fence should be erected on the western part of the northern boundary of the site as it overlooks a quarry. A risk assessment would also be needed.
