Norton housing office goes on the market

YORKSHIRE Housing’s Norton office has been put up for sale as the organisation moves towards bringing together its central services.

A number of the Yorkshire Housing teams are in the process of moving to a new corporate centre at Dysons Chambers in Leeds city centre.

As part of the acquisition of the Corporate Centre, Yorkshire Housing has reviewed the suitability of its current office accommodation to ensure that it fits the needs of the business and will help deliver services to customers in the future.

Some of the current Yorkshire Housing offices have been found to be unsuitable due to their size, location, or need for additional investment. As a result arrangements have been made for their sale and this includes the Yorkshire Housing office at Leat House in Welham Road, Norton.

Celia Cashman, housing services director said: “We are looking forward to bringing our central services together and offering customers an enhanced neighbourhood service.

“Our customers have told us they want to see our staff out and about more on our estates. Some people have been relocated from Leat House and the office is now too large for our needs. Yorkshire Housing wants to reassure our customers that we remain committed to providing a service in the Malton area. However, in the future this will be provided from either more suitable premises or through mobile working arrangements. We want our staff to be more visible in our communities and therefore more accessible to our customers.”
