TWO Pickering mums are staging a big children’s fun day at the town’s Memorial Hall on Saturday with the aim of showing what actities are available.

Behind the venture are Amanda Howard and Bridget Robinson-Clark who said the hall will be a hive of multi-activities.

“It’s going to be a celebration of all the work that child-focussed businesses, clubs and voluntary groups do, but most importantly it is going to be great fun,” said Bridget.

The day, which runs 9am-1pm, will have a jungle theme with animal crafts, a safari trail and face painting, added Amanda.

All the events will be provided by Whoosh!, the women’s new venture which aims to bring imaginative, craft-inspired parties and events to the children of Ryedale.

Staff from Flamingo Land will be giving animal-handling demonstrations and other attractions will include a performance by Dancetastic and a demonstration of football skills by Pickering Town Junior FC. Admission is free. For further information phone 01751 476804.
