Malton Food Lovers Festival competition

HOW are you getting on with baking your Malton pie?
We have joined forces with the organisers of Malton Food Lovers Festival to run a competition for the best Malton Pie, and the prizes include signed cookery books and and a meal for two at Burythorpe House.
The pie is based on a recipe created especially for the festival by international food writer, Elaine Lemm. And the winner could become part of Malton’s own food heritage, as it is hoped the pie will be adopted as the town’s exclusive speciality.
The pies will be judged on both appearance and taste by Elaine, Sarah Hyde, editor of the Gazette & Herald, Sophie Legard, from Malton Relish and a celebrity chef.

Entrants must be over 18, and each contender must bring two pies to be judged. Please bring your two pies to the town hall, between 9am-noon on Saturday, May 19, with full contact details.
The pies will then be judged for both taste and appearance. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the festival at 4pm on Sunday, May 20.
