Get-together for Hunmanby Hall’s old girls

HUNMANBY Hall Old Girls Association celebrates its 80th anniversary at the Ebor Suite at York Racecourse on Saturday at noon.

More than 260 “old girls” are expected to attend. Hunmanby Hall in Filey closed 21 years ago, but the Old Girls Association continues to thrive.

Chairman designate Caroline Donsworth said: “It is simply amazing that so many old girls continue to support the association.

“It is a credit of the school that we all continue to support each other and have a great time catching up.

“It is an incredible network of amazing people. We have old girls attending who did their school certificates in 1936 and also those who did their GCSEs in the summer of 1991.

“The Old Girls hold frequent area branch meetings and have an association reunion every autumn.

“All old girls are very welcome to join.”
