Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Scarborough shooting

A 28-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Scarborough.
He was arrested at around 1.20pm today at an address New Queen Street along with a 51-year-old man who was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
At 8.40am a 26-year-old woman was arrested by officers at an address on Seamer Road and remains in police custody for questioning.
An extensive police investigation was launched after a 36-year-old man was shot in the leg on Saturday during what is believed to have been a struggle with another man in a property in Eastfield. He has been treated in hospital and his condition is described as improving.
Officers increased patrols in the Eastfield area to offer reassurance to local residents.
Police are still appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
