TWO women with a boy in a pram were injured when they were struck by a car in North Yorkshire.
One of the women was airlifted to hospital to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with serious injuries following the crash which happened at about 2.25pm today on the outskirts of Whitby.
The second female suffered a leg injury and was taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment. The child was in shock but unhurt.
The incident happened at The Carrs near Sleights and involved a grey hatchback car.
The woman driving the car, which was heading towards Ruswarp from Sleights and ended up on its side in trees, was taken to Whitby Hospital for treatment along with a female passenger.
Neither the driver nor the passenger was seriously injured.
Firefighters were called to ensure the crashed car was made safe and the road was shut for several hours.
