A descendant of one of Easingwold’s founding Scout leaders is inviting everyone with an interest in the Scout Movement to attend a charity dinner to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in the Easingwold area.
University of York student Alex Walton, whose great- great-grandfather, Easingwold baker Fleetwood Broad, helped to set up the Easingwold detachment of Baden-Powell’s Boy Scouts, will be the special guest at the Easingwold Scout District Centenary Dinner at the Jaipur Spice restaurant, in Easingwold, on Tuesday, November 23.
The ticket-only event will include a talk on a century of Easingwold Scouting, a quiz and the chance to meet former Scouts, leaders and committee members from as far back as 1938. For tickets, which cost £15, phone 07713 330188.
