Kathryn Lazenby cycles from Land’s End to John O’Groats for charity

A FIREFIGHTER has completed a 1,250 mile cycle ride from one end of the country to the other.

Kathryn Lazenby, from Terrington, rode solo and unsupported from Land’s End to John O’Groats, staying at fire stations along the route.

Based at York Fire Station, Kathryn has so far raised £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

“The generosity and hospitality I received was overwhelming and I would like to thank all those people who donated or even just gave me water while I was en-route,” she said.

“It has really restored my faith in humanity in what is a very taxing time financially for us all.”
