GROUPS and businesses across Ryedale will be putting the kettle on this Friday to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning.

The annual event raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support Staff at the Skipton Building Society in Wheelgate, Malton, will be serving coffee and home-made cakes from 10am to 2pm.

Pickering bed and breakfast 17 Burgate will be hosting an event from 10.30am-12.30pm when refreshments will be served in the house and garden along with a tombola and stalls.

In Rosedale Abbey, the Graze on the Green tearoom will donate £1 to Macmillan for every tea and coffee sold on the day.

There will also be a selection of cakes and local food on offer and a tombola.

Pickering Scout Group will be holding their fundraising event at the scout building 6.15pm-8.30pm with a tombola, raffle and refreshments.

Sally Millington, fundraising manager for Ryedale, said: “The help we provide people with cancer is absolutely essential and we want to be able to give support to everyone who needs it.

“That’s why we need to raise more from this year’s World Biggest Coffee Morning than ever before.”
