Beatrix Potter exhibition opens at Nunnington Hall

VISITORS to a North Yorkshire stately home will have a rare opportunity to see the art of Beatrix Potter.

The exhibition, which opens today at Nunnington Hall, near York, features original watercolours and drawings.

Annabelle Coaten, visitor services manager, said: “There are some of the original book illustrations, one or two of her more unusual works as well as pages from an unpublished manuscript never before seen outside of the Lake District.”

Titled The Enchanting World Of Beatrix Potter, the exhibition will feature about 25 original paintings and drawings and will run until April 25.
