THE driver of a pickup died after he collided with a fence on a North Yorkshire road.
Police were today appealing for witnesses to help them work out how the crash happened near the villages of East and West Ness, in the Slingsby area, near Malton, at about 9.15am yesterday.
A red Nissan pickup which was towing an agricultural trailer left the unclassified road at West Ness Bridge and collided with a fence.
The 63-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to see if he died as a result of the collision or from natural causes.
Anyone who saw the pickup and trailer prior to the collision should phone Malton Road Policing Group on 0845 6060247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
