A PARAMEDIC killed in a car crash has been described by his fiancée as the love of her life.

Timothy John Wiley, from Kirkbymoorside, died after the blue Audi A4 he was driving towards Kirkbymoorside on the A170, was in a collision with a black Vauxhall Vectra travelling in the opposite direction at 8.50pm on Tuesday.

Mr Wiley’s fiancée, Gemma Westmoreland, has now paid tribute to the 39-year-old.

She said: “Timbo was the love of my life and my world. The man I hoped and wished to spend the rest of my life with.

“He was a wonderful person and I’m so sad that he has been taken from us all so suddenly.

“I miss him with all my heart and nothing can ease the pain of losing my gentle giant.”

Mr Wiley, a paramedic with Yorkshire Ambulance Service, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Vectra, a 21-year-old man from York, had to be cut free from his wrecked car by firefighters He was taken with severe head injuries to Scarborough Hospital. Initially described as being in a critical condition, he is now said to be stable.

The A170 was closed while police tried to piece together the chain of events leading up to the crash.

An inquest into Mr Wiley’s death was opened and adjourned on Thursday.
