AN intruder was discovered on the roof of Harrison’s Painters and Decorators Store in Saville Street, Malton, between 3pm and 3.35pm on Wednesday, October 15, police said. Sections of lead had been pulled up from the roof but hadn’t been removed. The offender left the scene in the direction of the Royal Oak pub.
* A BLUE Ford Focus car was broken into between 8am and 2.30pm yesterday in Sand Hutton. The driver’s window was smashed and items inside the car were moved around, but nothing was taken.
* A BREAK-IN took place at commercial premises on Ings Lane in Kirkbymoorside at 8.30am yesterday. The sound of glass smashing was heard and an intruder was discovered in the factory. The intruder ran off.
* A REFUSE lorry was involved in an accident with a scooter on at 9.40am on Wednesday, October 15 on the Terrington to York road near the hamlet of Dalby. The refuse lorry was being driven by a 42-year-old man, and the scooter was being driven by a 32-year-old woman, but neither was hurt. The road was closed for just over an hour.
