FRIENDS of a fun-loving teenager tragically killed last month have organised a fundraising gig in his memory.

Tom Warrington from Great Barugh died instantly when his car hit a tree near Beck Hole on June 29. His front seat passenger, Callum Dent, suffered severe injuries. He was taken by air ambulance to James Cook University in Middlesbrough where he still being treated.

Now pals of the pair have organised a concert at Suddaby’s in Malton to raise money in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the charity which whisked 17-year-old Callum to hospital and saved his life.

Family members said the determined teenager is walking and eating but “still has a long way to go, physically and mentally”.

One of the chief organisers of the gig, Oliver Rose, said they want to do something to remember their mate as he would have wanted.

He said: “We all miss Tom terribly and we thought this would be a great memorial for him. We decided to give any money we made to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which saved Callum’s life, plus a charity of Tom’s mum’s choice.

“There will be a lot of mixed feelings on the night but I’m sure Tom will be there in spirit.”

Local band Hedcage will play a one-off gig when they reform for the night. The popular act will be supported by a number of live MCs and DJs.

The concert will be held this Friday starting at 7pm. Tickets cost £5.
