Crews were called to a combine on fire this afternoon
Crews from Malton, Pickering, York, Huntington and Skipton attended reports of a combine harvester on fire near Malton at 1.10pm today (Tuesday) On arrival of crews this was found to be involve a combine harvester, a JCB loader and a field on fire. The fire caused by a mechanical fault on the combine caused 100% damage to the JCB loader and set the field alight. Crews used beaters, pitch forks, ceiling hooks, 2 HRJ, 45mm hose and an Argocat to extinguish the fire.
