With the end of the hot weather and with thunderstorms and associated heavy rain predicted, I’m surprised that City of York Council hadn’t set every available person to clear the leaves and detritus from the streets and at least give the drainage system a fighting chance with the flash floods.
Likewise other than one multi-million pound
grandiose scheme (the Foss Barrier) there has been
little if any work done to dredge and remove the
rubbish to help the River Foss’s flow through York
and the lower stretch of the river.
