A PRIMARY school is celebrating after being judged “good” by Ofsted inspectors.

Hertford Vale C E Primary School in Staxton was described as a “very welcoming and happy school where each pupil is known and valued for their individuality”.

The recent inspection looked at all areas of school life saying that the school “is a hive of activity, with interested, enthusiastic pupils and staff”.

Head teacher Andrew Barber said: “We are delighted to have received this judgement.

“The children welcomed the inspector into their school and were able to talk confidently about their life here at Hertford Vale.

“The judgement is also recognition of all the hard work from the staff and governors since the last inspection.

“Based on this positive outcome, we will continue to give the children in our school the best start in life we can by striving for excellence in all areas.”
