'MINDLESS' vandalism to artwork in Castle Gardens in Malton is just one of the incidents police are dealing with in Ryedale today.
Other reports include an overnight burglary at a property in Malton and the theft of two large gazebos from a Ryedale business on Monday.
The 20ft x 10ft gazebos have a dark green canvas top and aluminium frame - police said that "offenders would have needed a large van to remove them".
The incidents are being highlighted as part of a 24-hour North Yorkshire Police Tweetathon, which has been designed to give the public an insight into the work of the force.
The force is tweeting information about every incident that is called into the Force Control Room, to show people the number and type of incidents it is called about.
Corporate communications staff are hosting the event as part of a campaign to show the current demand placed on the force and help people understand why some incidents are prioritised above others.
They are also highlighting inappropriate calls that are not police matters.
People can follow the Tweetathon by following @NYorksPolice.
The force will be using #NYP247 #Behindthescenes
