A FIRE on the moors near Farndale is being treated as suspicious.
Crews were called to Low Blakey Moor just before 1pm on Thursday and found area of grass, measuring 10 metres by six metres, on fire.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said that after extinguishing the fire, firefighters searched the area thoroughly for any further areas of fire.
Crews found a firelighter at the scene, so believed the cause was deliberate.
