YEAR 11 students in Ryedale have marked the end of their school days with a party to remember.

Norton College students were welcomed at the school hall by a large audience of family, friends and well-wishers.

Deputy head teacher Dr Simon Carson handed out award sashes to the prom king and and queen – Luke Noble and Emily Ogram - and others, including for the loudest lass, Leah Morley-Rushworth, and the most hard working student Luke Horton.

Becky Blackburn, senior pastoral leader and prom organiser, said: “It was another great prom for our brilliant Year 11s and a privilege to share in the celebrations. There was real camaraderie in the year group. The students have worked so hard all year; it was their time to enjoy themselves altogether. As many of our students move on to the sixth form here, or make other choices, we know the start they have had at Norton College will equip them to cope with challenges ahead.”
