NOW it is Passion Flower season I thought some of your readers might be interested in an explanation of the formation of the flower.
Ten petals signify the apostles who witnessed the crucifixion, the ring of filaments within signify the crown of thorns, five stamens are Christ’s wounds, three stigmas are nails in the cross and the tendrils signify the lashes of Jesus’s persecutors.
Hence the name Passion Flower.
