WHAT might be the smallest comic book shop in the world opened in Malton at the weekend.
Universal Geek opened in a 10ft by 6ft unit in the Shambles.
To celebrate its opening day, the shop’s owner Mark Brannan organised a rock hunt round the Market Place.
Those who found the 32 small, decorated rocks could claim a goody bag.
Mark said the opening had gone well. “We had lots of good feedback from residents and a lot of people saying it’s just what Malton needed,” he said.
Universal Geek will be selling “new, pre-loved and handmade items from toys to clothes and everything in-between”.
Mark said that he is in the process of getting the store verified by Guinness as the smallest comic book shop.
“The closest is a 10ft by 10ft bookshop which makes ours smaller,” he said.
