FIRE crews were called to a property in Norton this afternoon following reports of a roof fire.
Fire engines from Malton, Scarborough and York stations were called at 2.50pm to the commercial property.
The fire service said: "This incident turned out to be a fire within a furnace chimney, which spread to some boards in the roof space."
Fire crews used a hose reel jet to fight the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
