ONE person is being checked for smoke inhalation after a garage fire in a North Yorkshire town spread to an adjacent house.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue crews are at the scene of the fire in Main Street, Cayton, near Scarborough.
Fire services said that they were called at 11.17 to the incident and that three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform are at the scene.
The road has been temporarily closed.
They tweeted: "Two hose reel jets are in use and crews are ventilating the property.
"All persons are accounted for, one person is to be checked over by ambulance for possible smoke inhalation, as a precautionary measure."
