TWO sister hotels in Helmsley have welcomed getting shortlisted in the finals of a major Yorkshire award.

The Feversham Arms Hotel and the Black Swan Hotel have been shortlisted for the Small Hotel of the Year award and Large Hotel of the Year award, respectively, in the 2018 White Rose Awards.

Both hotels have the same owners. Jeremy Rata, owners’ representative of the two hotels, said: “The Feversham Arms and its sister hotel, The Black Swan, are well-known across Yorkshire and beyond.

“Being shortlisted for these prestigious awards is only testament to that and we’re delighted to be recognised for all our hard work in making Helmsley a hugely attractive destination to visit and stay.

“We’re excited for the final and would like to thank all of our loyal guests for their fantastic support.”

The White Rose Awards aim to celebrate the best hotels, restaurants and tourism businesses Yorkshire has to offer.

More than 1,000 people will be expected to attend the ceremony - the largest of any UK tourism awards - at the Harrogate Convention Centre, on Monday, November 12, where a panel of four judges will then decide the overall winners of each individual category.
